Michele Willberg

Kery Gladden Eastep

A native of Southern California, Michele has spent many of the past 20 years planning special events for major players in the corporate world including Party Planners West, CBS and VISA. In addition, she was most recently the executive director of a non-profit organization at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts. After she married a few years ago, she realized that her repertoire of meals numbered exactly three…and thus, meal preparation quickly became a source of stress. Between trying to find recipes that were easy to use and then making sure she had all of the right ingredients, Michele felt that she was constantly scrambling to put dinner on the table.

After the birth of her son, as mom-exhaustion set in, she decided to develop a personal system that would “de-stress” the task of figuring out what's for dinner. Armed with a pile of index cards and a pen, Michele sat down and made lists of meals and all of their ingredients, the side dishes that accompany them and what condiments rounded out the meal. Then, she moved on to her refrigerator, freezer and pantry and made lists of items that she liked to have on hand at all times. Michele quickly realized that by taking the time to do these simple tasks, grocery shopping and meal planning became much less stressful.

Shortly after Michele's epiphany, another mom asked her to help her with setting up the same system for her – and on the playground by the swing set, the idea for Dinner a la Card was born!

Michele is a graduate of the University of Southern California and lives in Manhattan Beach with her husband and son…and she doesn't stress about dinner anymore!

As the owner of her own marketing communications agency, Kerry fully understands the demands of working full-time and being a wife and mother. And like her college roommate, Michele, she also felt the stress of trying to figure out what's for dinner. So when the two of them got together and Michele told her about her idea for Dinner a la Card, the marketer in her knew it was a brilliant idea that would help remove the stress from meal planning. So over countless conversations and lots of phone calls (just like in college!), the two began planning the process of bringing Michele's idea to market.

Also a graduate of the University of Southern California, Kerry lives in a beautiful ski resort town in New Mexico with her husband and son.
